Technical Oracle Engineering Hands-On Managers
New Jersey and New York City
We are looking for two highly seasoned well educated professionals who have mentored, trained and managed a staff of over 7-8 Oracle Engineers and Oracle DBA’s. This is a very busy financial environment. Only hands-on expert with management skills wanted. Must have experience with policies, procedures and must have experience in human resource reviews for staff. This position is 60-70 percent technical and 30-40 percent management. Candidates must have strong experience with data conversions and migrations.
Candidates must have a degree in computer science, engineering or related field or equivalent experience; experience with Database Administration; Experience with Oracle 10g,9g or Higher ; Experience working in VLDB (very large databases OLTP and DSS applications.) and real-time OLTP (online transaction processing) environments; Experience supporting 24x7 production systems and on-call rotation; Experience designing high-availability systems for purpose of maximum up-time (e.g.: Oracle Streams or Dataguard); Experience designing online back-up solutions for real-time OLTP environments; Experience designing and implementing stored procedures, triggers, and SQL. Knowledge of ODBC/OTL/Perl is a plus.
Ability to Mentor and Lead less-experienced DBAs; Ability to Identify and Implement Process Improvements; Project Management and Project Documentation skills; Experience of other Databas’s,DB2,Informix,or Sybase. Responsibilities include, the development of best practices and repeatable procedures for deploying databases, and day-to-day operational activities including break/fix, space management, backup and restore (ontape/onbar/Legato), replication setup and management (ER and HDR). DBA team also builds and maintains large-scale Oracle databases across multiple Solaris ,AIX and Linux platforms.
